Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and was made a Partner at Berry & Lamberts in April 2024. Emma is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP). A TEP is an internationally-recognised qualification that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the Trust and Estates field and indicates that the practitioner takes a proactive approach to being at the forefront of the latest developments in the industry. A TEP is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP), and is subject to their code of conduct. Emma deals with all matters in relation to the administration of estates, including those with complex family and taxation issues. Emma is able to draw on her experience in family law to deliver a multifaceted service. Emma is experienced in advising and preparing comprehensive wills for clients who often have complicated family backgrounds and so require planning with a variety of trusts. Emma advises in relation to lifetime and will trusts, and assists trustees with the ongoing administration of such trusts. She regularly assists clients with the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney or, in the event it is too late to do this, she is able to act for and guide loved ones through the Deputyship application process.
