Nicola qualified as a Solicitor in January 2012 having worked in different roles within the legal profession since 1997. Upon qualification Nicola took on a demanding role in another firm in Hull advising a variety of clients on all aspects of clinical negligence covering a wide variety of claims. Whilst Nicola has a wealth of experience in cases of all natures, she has a particular specialism in claims of obstetric and a gynaecological nature, advising mothers and families on birth trauma not only to baby but especially claims that involve harm to the mother during pregnancy, labour and beyond. She has a wealth of experience in complex claims involving difficult causation arguments and assessment of damages. Nicola also takes pride in advising and supporting bereaved families, supporting them through Inquests involving aspects of Human Rights law and questions over the cause of death. Nicola has provided pro bono advice and support to a variety of organisations/charities over the years and enjoys being involved in her local rural community supporting small local charities close to her heart. “My proudest professional achievement has to be securing compensation to provide financial support to a family of 7 children who lost their mother to cervical cancer which would have been curable, had an opportunity to diagnose not been missed. Whilst no amount of money would replace a young mother the money secured would go some way to provide the grandmother with the support she required to care for the young family as they grew up without the love of their mother.”
