David Lant
Solicitor - Solicitor Advocate
SRA ID: 337720
David is a vastly experienced lawyer. With over 20 years' knowledge in the field (more than 16 years as a qualified solicitor), David has held senior roles for well-known firms in London, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Dubai. He was a Partner in a North East law firm before taking a Consultant role with CLR Law, enabling him to work from his office at home in rural Northumberland. As a Solicitor-Advocate, David is one of a relatively small number of solicitors in the UK to gain the higher rights of audience qualification. Because of this, David can represent clients from County Court right through to High Court level and beyond. David is a company director for Kitchens Plus Bathrooms, a regional business with a turnover of around £20m. He is also the company secretary for Tynegrain Ltd/Grainco, a global trading business with a turnover of around £200m. David looks after the legal requirements and affairs of both of these substantial entities, indicating the high level of trust in his expertise. David's main area of work is commercial litigation but he also accepts instructions in relation to commercial leases and company/commercial work e.g. shareholders' agreements, asset purchases etc. In relation to disputes, David has acted in a broad range of matters from small claims to multi-million-pound disputes. He has an excellent track record and always tries to achieve an early resolution where it is possible to do so.

Reclaim moneys due to me
I would like to say that David and Anna reclaimed moneys due to me, after I had been trying for years to sort it out myself.
Good, honest professional advice from the start.
Thank you.

Commercial lease. All aspects
Fantastic experience. From our first contact with David he explained everything in an easy to digest way, explaining complex legal terms in easy to understand English. He kept us updated at all times, even checking in to acknowledge receipt of information or inform us of a timeline for him to action request. I found the very professional approach coupled with his personal touch allows David to be up there with some of the best professionals I have ever dealt with, not just in the legal profession but all professional services. Highly reccomend!!!

In it for the long haul
David took on my case over two years ago, after reviewing all the details he made it clear I had grounds for litigation. David made understand of all the pitfalls in all areas going forward. After guiding me to all the correct professional people for advise he put together a strong case for court proceedings, which ended in a very good outcome.
David was definitely there for the long haul.
I must also commend Anna Ramsden trainee solicitor who's help was invaluable

bad situation ends very well
I had a very bad situation when in good faith I agreed with a specialist repair / restorer to carry out a very extensive restoration of my Classic Brabus G Wagon. I purchased circa £28k in parts and the labour was to be “about 50% of the parts cost”.
The restorer ordered an additional £13k of parts from Mercedes and sent me an invoice for €13k for the parts and $29k for the labour. This was to be a total for the works of £70k for the restoration, which I really was not happy about. To complicate matters further the restorer transferred the vehicle to an unconnected third party.
CLR Law and David Lant absolutely came to the rescue. David applied for injunctive relief to prevent any damage to the vehicle pending resolution of the claim. It was slow and the pandemic did not help but David managed to get custody of the G Wagon with success in the main claim for damages. The main restorer went insolvent and obtained a costs order against the third party.
I can’t thank David enough. He has a professional, steady hand when things are less than certain and achieved an outstanding result in the circumstances.
