Hibberts renewed a lease for Stables and Land that we own. They did the original lease several years ago. The work was carried out on time to the fee agreed. Joel Brookes, Trainee Solicitor, carried out the work.

Appalling communication
I used them for a land purchase. First time I had ever done this, Hibberts solicitor Oliver Lewis failed to communicate effectively with me on what to expect, the processes and the costs from the outset. There seemed to be little interest in responding to my phone calls and questions. When I got frustrated, pulled out of the purchase, and complained about the way he had managed the communication, the team closed ranks - despite earlier admissions by one of the partners that the communication had been poor.
All it needed was regular communication to avoid misunderstandings - but it appeared to be just a case of going through the routine motions rather than engaging with me as a customer. Unimpressed and wouldn't recommend Hibberts,.

Our client care letter made it clear from the outset what our fees and disbursements would be. The client pulled out of the transaction just prior to exchange of contracts and then complained when informed of what the abortive costs would be. They now accept that they had misunderstood the client care letter. We dealt with the matter under our complaints process.

Property purchase
I was recommended Oliver Lewis and Hibberts Solicitors to use for the purchase of my new property. For my first experience working with a solicitors it didn't disappoint. Oliver was knowlegable and would ring me to explain, if I was ever unsure of any of the legal jargon in the documents I needed to sign. He was efficient at responding to my emails and provided answers to any questions i had.
