Maria is the executive assistant to the firm’s Managing Director, Matthew Claughton.She is responsible for organising Matthew’s daily commitments, business development initiatives and client liaison. Maria also deals with new enquiries, ongoing investigations as well as working alongside the firm’s most senior lawyers on complex cases. Maria has specific responsibility for co-ordinating the marketing and business development role of the Managing Director in accordance with current Business Development Strategy, which involves, building on our reputation as the national, ‘go-to’ law firm for clients under investigation. Maria also deals with new enquiries, ongoing investigations as well as working alongside the firm’s most senior lawyers on complex cases. Maria has been with Olliers for in excess of 20 years and is familiar with all our departments and practice areas. She is well placed to ensure that clients are introduced to the lawyer best placed to secure the best possible outcome. Maria understands the stress and anxiety a criminal case can cause. During an investigation or prosecution, Maria is always available to answer client’s queries and address concerns.

I honestly can not credit Matt and Maria individually.

They both a a true credit to the firm!!!! This case was a very serious/complex one & we had full faith in them & to our avail justice was served.

I used Olliers for a huge ‘firearms’ case for my son. Matt Corn represented him for just short of a year & took it to trial (in which my son got acquitted). Matt was excellent and I found him to be absolutely amazing… Not only was he empathetic with us as a family, keeping us informed every step of the way, I feel he went the extra mile for my boy & attended every hearing when some solicitors resort to video link or representatives ( as he was detained in a prison out of town) & really believed in my sons innocence & was passionate his job. He remained professional & very assertive to the case.
Also behind the scenes was a very kind, supportive legal secretary Maria Douglas whom was there also every step of the way lending a friendly ear & talked the family through all the things we needed to know from a legal & friendly prospective!!
I honestly can not credit those two people individually…
They both a a true credit to the firm!!!!
