As a partner within the Personal Injury team, Laura heads up Boyes Turner’s successful mesothelioma and asbestos team. Laura has over a decade of specialist experience in acting for sufferers of asbestos related disease and their bereaved families. With over 15 years of specialist experience representing people with mesothelioma, Laura leads Boyes Turner’s highly regarded mesothelioma and asbestos disease claims team known for its “unrivalled quality and ability for asbestos disease claims in the Thames Valley area- the “go to firm” (Legal 500). She also applies her extensive legal expertise and exceptional client care to represent severely injured victims and the bereaved dependent families of those with fatal injuries. Laura works hard to conclude mesothelioma cases during a claimant’s lifetime and has obtained sizeable sums within months of instruction, but also obtained Court orders for provision of future private treatment costs such as immunotherapy that may not be available on the NHS so her clients have the security of knowing any future treatments will be funded. When it is not possible to conclude the case during a client’s life-time Laura supports the families to complete the claim on the deceased’s behalf. Her compassion and commitment to making a difference for her clients results in a persistence which enables her to succeed in heavily defended or difficult cases. Laura is a recognised asbestos disease expert, accredited as a “leading industrial disease lawyer” (Legal 500 2021) with an excellent and well-deserved reputation and has given live interviews on BBC Radio about mesothelioma and the implications of the Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment Scheme. She is an outspoken campaigner dedicated to using her knowledge to raise public awareness and make a difference, for example through her work with local asbestos groups. Her mesothelioma clients come to her from all over the UK and abroad and from a variety of trades and occupations. Her track record of successful claims includes cases arising from low-level exposure, environmental exposure to asbestos from living near an asbestos factory or from breathing in dust from the clothes of family members. Laura takes pro-active steps to secure settlements for asbestos-related disease claimants during their lifetime wherever possible and where there is a risk of future serious deterioration, she obtains provisional damages awards which preserve the claimant’s right to come back to court for further compensation in the event that the specified deterioration occurs. She succeeds in complex cases involving multiple defendants. She has both the compassion and legal expertise needed to obtain justice and compensation for sufferers and bereaved families and negotiates voluntary repayments of end of life care costs for hospices which nurse her clients. She personally supports asbestos disease sufferers at support groups coffee mornings and charity events. She also gives regular presentations and training to health care professionals throughout the country. Away from the office Laura helps raise awareness and funds for the charities and support groups that help sufferers of asbestos-related and other diseases. Her fundraising exploits having included abseiling down The Blade, a skyscraper in Reading, the height of 32 double decker buses, in aid of a children’s hospice, Naomi House and a 25km Thames Path Challenge walk for Mesothelioma UK. Laura is an accredited Senior Litigator and Asbestos Disease Specialist with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Exemplary Service and Result
As with most people, when I discovered, quite out of the blue, I had terminal cancer I found it difficult to process my new situation. Particularly what were the possibilities regarding claiming from the company that had me working 50 years ago in an unsafe asbestos environment.
Laura Magson of Boyes Turner provided clear and sympathetic advice, helped by her experiences of similar cases. Laura worked very hard with tenacity to progress my no-win-no-fee claim to a successful conclusion while keeping me fully informed of progress and explaining the intricacies of the legal processes.
Very importantly Laura ensured my settlement included the funding of any non-NHS treatment that I may require as the NHS is limited in the treatments it can provide.
So, I have no hesitation in recommending Boyes Turner, and Laura Magson in particular, to act on your behalf for an asbestos related claim.

Asbestos exposure compensation claim
I would whole heartedly recommend Laura to anyone who needs legal representation following a mesothelioma diagnosis.
When my partner was diagnosed with mesothelioma and we learned that it was incurable, it devastated us. The charity HASAG gave us immediate support and through them we found Laura. Laura visited us at home, and we quickly realised that she understood every aspect of the situation we found ourselves in. We were confident in Laura’s ability to professionally and competently take forward my partner’s case against his former employer. This she did.
The mesothelioma diagnosis and progression were traumatic. The cause of this disease, and the knowledge that it could and should never have happened, made it impossible to come terms with what was happening. Our lives were upended. Laura’s comprehension and handling of the situation resulted in a swift admission of liability from the construction company responsible for the asbestos exposure. My partner received an interim payment and we were assured that any necessary adjustments, expenses and treatments would be covered by the compensation.
Very sadly my partner died just 8 months after his diagnosis, and before the claim was settled. With Laura’s advice and expertise I was able to continue with the compensation claim which was eventually settled through negotiation and without the need to go to court. I am very grateful to Laura not only for her legal proficiency, but also for the manner in which she managed the case. She was quick to respond to communications, and has been understanding, compassionate and supportive throughout.

Dads mesothelioma case
When my dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma we were contacted by a charity based company called HASAG which out us on to Boyes Turner and we met Laura. Laura managed to speak to dad virtually whilst he was still with us but unfortunately he passed away very soon after. Laura advised that I become an executor to dads claim.
Laura was so easy to deal with and also showed the family a personnel touch whenever we spoke.
We finally settled our claim with Laura’s help.
The family would definitely recommend Laura and Boyes Turner to anyone needing a representative for a mesothelioma case as Laura’s knowledge is vast

Mesothelioma Claim
Absolutely delighted with the speed, efficiency and clarity of the support provided by Laura in my claim against my former employer. She cut through the legalese jargon and explained everything in detail making my decision making easy. Additionally she handled my grim prognosis details with compassion and showed a great understanding of, not only the legal aspects, but also the complex medical details and options. The prompt settlement negotiated by Laura has ensured I can "enjoy" the benefits while still fairly mobile and also she ensured the defendants would fund any future treatments not funded by the NHS should I need them.
It was a pleasure working with Laura and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending her to others.

Mesothelioma claim
Laura Magson was superb in all the dealings with this claim from start to finish. She was professional, friendly and extremely helpful in keeping in touch regularly through a very difficult situation for my wife and l. We feel as though we have made a good friend.
The outcome was as she had hoped for us after negotiating herself through what could be termed as a minefield!
One to be highly recommended, well done Laura and thank you so much.
Also a big thank you to Sophie Martin who dealt with our will update. Another very professional, knowledgeable friendly person who my wife and I would highly recommend.
