Jon Salter
Caseworker
I am a Caseworker in the Criminal Defence department at Duncan Lewis. I work under the direct supervision of Directors Rubin Italia and Nicholas De Freitas in the Harrow based office. After completing my law degree in 2005, I embarked on a career at the Bar of England and Wales. I graduated from the Inns of Court School of Law (now City Law School) in 2006, and in 2007 I took up my first position in a law firm that specialised in criminal defence work. I have extensive experience in dealing with all criminal law matters and regularly receive instructions across the offence spectrum. I also have experience in dealing with a number of appellate cases. I provide a proactive and robust approach to legal disputes, whilst being sensitive to the emotions that are inevitably raised. I am also passionate about promoting the concept of justice and achieving the best possible outcome for clients. Thanks to my previous positions I have experience of carrying out police station attendances as well as preparing files for the Magistrates’ Court and the Crown Court. I also have expertise in family and child care law having regularly advised on complex matters some of which included international and jurisdictional issues. In 2010, I expanded my legal qualifications and became a Graduate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives (now the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, CILEX). I have worked for numerous law firms since 2007 and prior to attending university, I was responsible for Legal Aid applications at East Berkshire Magistrates’ Court.
