Nichola Scillitoe
Legal Executive
I aim to provide unbiased, professional advice in a timely, friendly manner. I always try to go the extra mile for clients. I’m a good listener, patient and sympathetic to my clients needs, and always treat my clients as I would want to be treated. Sometimes clients come to us at what is a highly stressful and emotional time for them. To help people when they have lost someone close to them is a privilege, and I feel a huge sense of achievement if I’m able to provide advice and clarity at a time when they may feel vulnerable. Associate Member of the Institute of Legal Executives since August 2011. Awarded Best Management Student in Team Leading in 2008. NVQ Level III (Secretarial with Law) in 1992. Prior to having my daughter, I enjoyed windsurfing and deep-sea diving (not only abroad but also in the UK). I now cherish spending time with family and friends, supporting my daughter in the local girls’ football team and helping her with her other hobbies. I also enjoy cycling (without any children!) when the opportunity arises. Assist in our local primary school and help out the school PTA whenever possible. I deal with the administration of estates, from instruction to estate accounts and distribution. I also handle applications to claim the Residents’ Nil Rate Band (RNRB) and transfer of RNRB, including applying the tapering provisions (where applicable). Much of my work is the drafting of wills, from simple basic wills to complex matters, advising clients of potential claims on an estate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and advising on Inheritance Tax allowances and liabilities. I also give advice and prepare Deeds of Variation, Lasting Powers of Attorney and General Powers of Attorney. Part of my work involves dealing with day-to-day management of my client's affairs, such as liaising with carers and various organisations on their behalf. I also liaise with HM Land Registry with regard to the removal of deceased joint proprietors, severing of joint tenancies and cancelling and/or removing restrictions. I work in an area of law that I am passionate about as it inspires me to continue to learn. I enjoy the challenges it brings and I particularly like helping people and making a difference in people's lives. I am driven by the satisfaction that comes from performing well and taking pride in my work. I previously worked as a secretary in civil litigation and conveyancing but found my path very early on in 1998 in the private client department. A person not a number
Being treated as a person instead of just an old man who has to be tolerated is really important and made my contacts with Ms Scillitoe not a chore but a pleasant experience. I felt that she would have treated all whom she came in contact with the same friendly and personable professionalism. Yes. It might have cost more to come to you (I do not know). What I do know is that I can rely on the your advice and the final product. Thank you and particularly Ms Scillitoe for the help provided.
Unfortunately I do not recommend as each person's requirement would be different from my own. but if asked I would be able to say how well I was treated.

Will writing
Nichola was a pleasure to deal with. Mine and my partners Wills weren’t the most straightforward, but this wasn’t a problem.
From our first face to face meeting with Nichola she explained the process in full and the various things we needed to consider. Our Wills were then drafted and executed efficiently.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Nichola.
