Jonathan Howat

Partner

Jonathan is the partner who manages the Medical Negligence team. After completing his diploma in professional legal practice in 2014, Jonathan joined Thompsons. He worked in both the Union and Private Accident Teams dealing with reparation claims for injured parties before moving over to head up our Medical Negligence Team. His time at Thompsons has been very rewarding and has allowed him to help people when they have needed it most. This includes helping families who suffered as a direct consequence of the Clutha and Bin Lorry disasters in Glasgow. His move into Medical Negligence allowed him to continue this work with his involvement for those impacted by the negligent practices of the disgraced surgeon, Prof Eljamel. He has experience in many different types of claims, including those for medical negligence, accidents at work, stress at work, road traffic accidents, public liability accidents and offshore accidents. In addition, he has represented clients making claims for family members who have suffered fatal accidents and regularly makes applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and the Motor Insurers Bureau.
