Top quality service
We are very grateful and lucky to have Louise and her team in charge of our first house purchase. Such a lovely team with very professional and smooth communication throughout the process which lasted only about 9 weeks or less maybe!
They had provided me with comprehensive details which made the process quicker and easier to digest as first time buyer.
It’s great to have such a first class and local service available in town.

Excellent service from start to finish
We are very pleased with the way the team at Slee Blackwell, Barnstaple dealt with our sale and purchase the purchase having many issues! We've moved a number of times over the years and used various solicitors but this was by far the best.
Sharon and Kim were swift at responding and so friendly and helpful.
Louise was attentive always available and discussed the various problems and options along the way and for sure, went the extra mile on our completion day in prompting our buyers solicitors to get their bit done! We're very grateful.

Very satisfied with the service I received

Attention to detail lacking
I've used Slees for years,but I'm disappointed on a few counts.Twice now when buying property the contract report has contained incorrect information and one occasion i was going to pull out.Surely the devil is in the detail when it comes to the final report.
Also your charges have shot up and on my last statement there was a charge out of the blue for dealing with the management company!!?
I may look at other solicitors in the future as your company is not exclusive.

We thank you for providing your review and are truly sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the service you received on this occasion. Louise, who dealt with your transaction would like to respond personally : " I agree that the devil is in the detail when it comes to legal matters. In 2022 there was an error in the Contract Report in relation to a comment made in respect of a measurement in a search result for which I apologised at the time and as a goodwill gesture did reduce our fee. I believed you were satisfied with that and you have kindly instructed us on other transactions since then. In respect of the latest transaction our report to you was based on the information provided to us in the LPE1 form by the management company and which you had a copy of. This advised that the insurance for the property was included in the service charge. We were legally entitled to rely on that information as it was provided by the management company. Therefore the information contained in the Contract Report was correct. If solicitors independently investigated the veracity of every single piece of information provided in a conveyancing transaction, the delay and costs would be prohibitive. In respect of the increase in our fees I did previously explain to you that these had increased, as unfortunately have most things. You accepted our quote which included a list of the additional disbursements which might be applicable, such as the management company charges. Therefore, you were aware of these potential fees at the time you instructed us. However, when you raised this point with us, as a gesture of goodwill we agreed not to charge you the management company fee. You are a valued client and we have always appreciated your instructions. I would therefore hope to be able to assist you again in the future. If you wish to discuss any of these points please feel free to contact me on my direct dial number."

Perfect
