Joanne is a Senior Associate Solicitor and joined Family Law Group in January 2018. She works from our Chesterfield, Derby and Nottingham offices and specialises in public law children cases. With a legal career extending to over 11 years, Joanne also has vast legal experience in local government and advanced Court advocacy skills. Having completed her law degree at Sheffield Hallam University in 2007, Joanne then went on to study the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School during 2008. Joanne has also gained a Diploma in Local Government law and is a member of the Law Society's Children Panel. Joanne prides herself on effective advocacy skills and provides her clients with a confident and empathetic approach, which helps her to fully understand the situation that they are going through. Whilst talking about her career, Joanne also commented that she enjoys the challenge of a varied case load and providing a positive outcome for her clients. Being a Solicitor allows Joanne to follow her passion for fighting for justice on behalf of other people. It also means that she gets to interact with people on a daily basis and travel throughout the UK to various Courts. She says that being a Solicitor brings her into contact with a variety of different people that she would not otherwise be aware of.
