I am Gemma Richardson, a specialist family solicitor in Kent, accredited by the Law Society. I have a wealth of experience in dealing with the full spectrum of family law issues. I provide clear, and straightforward advice to my clients, and I am often commended for my no nonsense approach.
I deal with a range of clients from varying walks of life, from divorcing housewives and house husbands to high net worth divorcing entrepreneurs. No matter the case, you will always receive a high level of service from me; client care is incredibly important to me and I am passionate about ensuring that my clients are well looked after.
I understand that approaching a matrimonial solicitor can be a very difficult step to take, particularly under such emotionally charged circumstances. I will be on hand to listen to the problems you are facing and offer strategic advice as to the most appropriate step for you to take.
In some instances, the advice I provide may not be what you want to hear. My role is not to encourage unrealistic expectations, but to ensure you know where you stand from the off to enable you to focus on our joint aim: achieving the best outcome possible for you.
I have a keen eye for detail, and can tactically plan, from an early stage, which route will be best for my clients to take. Not all cases are the same, so my focus is entirely on you and your individual needs.
I am a member of the Law Society Family Law Accreditation Scheme, which is a mark of excellence.
You will see that I have opted for a neutral theme running through the website, with photographs of landscapes, and nature. I made the decision to shy away from the standard images you see all too often relating to family difficulties, divorce, and separation, to promote a more neutral and less conflict ridden space for you to browse.

Complex Children Case
Really great to deal with. Knowledgeable and frank advice. Gave the other side a really tough time with every mistake. Judge commented that it was a "brilliantly prepared case - I wish all cases before me were as good".
Even the barrister (who was excellent) complimented Gemma, who apparently is known in Kent as "Lady MacBeth"!

Steely Fist In An Elegant Velvet Glove
Gemma assisted me in a finance case (assets of £2,000,000+). She managed my anger and frustration brilliantly. Zero BS, and advice given firmly but kindly. I've been through this before with another firm of excellent solicitors, but Gemma them out of the water. I came to her on a friend's recommendation that she is the best solicitor bar none - my friend was correct. The other side (London) charged more than double Family Law Kent. I would have paid double that.
Worth every penny. A genuinely impressive lady with a staggering knowledge. The speediest professional I have ever met.
Gemma is a formidable solicitor. Passionate, fiercely protective of her clients, and very considerate. Do not be mistaken though - this lady has fangs!

Great service and outcome
Gemma was really helpful during what could have been an even worse time with her expertise.
She has a kind and sensitive approach while empowering you. I learnt a lot about my rights and how to ensure financials are secured even after the divorce which is not something I thought about previously.

The best support, with empathy during my darkest days.
After a 21yr relationship, with 17 of them being married (and two sons). I found myself facing a divorce. To say it was the darkest of time of my life would be an understatement. Gemma came highly recommended. Gemma guided me through each and every step with the utmost of care and empathy for my position. Gemma was always clear about what was worth legally challenging, and what would only cost with no real gain. Gemma made me feel incredibly secure at every stage of the journey. 8yrs on from those days, I am still forever grateful to have had Gemma hold my hand through a very difficult time. I simply could not imagine getting through it without her.
