Rob Newton

Associate, Solicitor

Rob is an Associate in the Dispute and Litigation team and joined Wolferstans in April 2024. He previously worked for a national law firm based in Exeter. He holds an LLM in Professional Legal Practice and MSc in Criminal Justice. Before becoming a Solicitor, Rob was a Police Detective and has previously lectured on legal and justice issues. Rob specialises in commercial litigation and business disputes, including partnership disputes, and director & shareholder issues. He also advises on disputes involving contracts and supplies, franchises, negligence claims, defamation and reputation management, and cross-jurisdictional issues. Rob has previously acted in cases at the County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, but often resolves disputes without the need for court proceedings, with particular emphasis on commercial and practical objectives and outcomes, often via mediation. Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors and travelling and experiencing new cultures.
