Bizarre and awful experience
I contracted Doyle Clayton's services for a sensitive employment issue, where from the outset I made it very clear what my wishes were regarding the approach I would like to take.
The designated lawyer outlined all my options, then proceeded to ignore my every wish. Again and again, I stated my wishes over email - again and again I was ignored. This was in the midst of a highly stressful and toxic employment situation, where legal support was meant to be an assistance.
I continued to restate my wishes until it was so clear my wishes were being disregarded that I ended the engagement. In numerous emails I state my wishes very clearly, 'I want to resign immediately'. I am unsure how this can be mistaken for any other approach.
After submitting a complaint letter, Doyle Clayton's compliance officer responded with a document which is clear false representation and gaslighting. When I stated this was false representation, and provided the evidence why, the compliance officer responded with more false representation, claiming my wishes were not clear.
I have a young child, and had no other option but to resign from my employment. Doyle Clayton made this experience even more stressful than it already is and is now trying to charge me for that imposed stress (£2,000). Not to mention, they carried out work expressly against my wishes.
I spent 20 minutes on the phone with a new lawyer, from a different organisation, who gave me all the advice I needed to make an informed decision which has resulted in a very good outcome (the opposite approach Doyle Clayton was trying to force me to action).
I implore people not to use this law firm.
