Lewis joined Gibson & Co. in 2020, returning to his native North East from the market-leading litigation team of a major international City firm, where he trained in London and Paris. A modern languages graduate from the University of St Andrews, he achieved distinctions in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course before qualifying as a solicitor in 2019. He advises individual and corporate clients on a wide range of contentious matters, with experience in shareholder and partnership disputes, contract and commercial disputes, property claims (including complex possession cases and boundary claims), sale of goods and bailment cases, and consumer claims. He also has experience in regulatory proceedings, investigations and professional negligence claims and has acted for clients ranging from private individuals to FTSE 100 companies. His work has included cases at almost every level of the English legal system, in the Court of Appeal, the Chancery Division of the High Court, the Commercial Court and the Upper Tribunal, as well as County Court cases. He speaks French and Russian in addition to English. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, history, pub quizzes, cycling, cooking and following (with some dread) Newcastle United.”
