Senior Solicitor at Churchers Solicitors Llp

Madeleine Harrington

Senior Solicitor

Madeleine qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and has worked at a number of highly regarded law firms in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire prior to relocating to the Isle of Wight and joining Churchers in June 2024. Madeleine gained considerable experience in a variety of family law matters including divorce and separation, financial arrangements, children matters, pre nuptial and post nuptial agreements and family mediation. Madeleine's experience includes acting for mid and high net worth individuals, as well as individuals with modest assets and income. Madeleine also has significant experience representing parents and grandparents in complex private law children matters (involving domestic abuse, findings of fact, parental alienation, high conflict and intractable disputes). Madeleine believes that it is possible to make a positive choice to separate in a non-confrontational manner. She promotes non-court options wherever possible, strongly believing that these offer the best outcomes for a family and that court proceedings should only be a last resort. Having gone through her own divorce, Madeleine understands the emotional impact that separating has on the individual and as a family. Madeleine has trained as a divorce coach to help offer emotional and practical support to clients in addition to legal advice. Madeleine encourages her clients to separate with dignity and to focus on a more positive future. In addition to being a solicitor Madeleine is also trained as a family mediator, working towards accreditation and is collaboratively trained.

Legally support with great care.

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the care and support both my solicitor, Madeleine Harrington, and her Legal Secretary, Jo Morfitt provided me with over the last few months.
Madeleine, I particularly appreciated your professionalism, expertise, ability to listen, clear communication and patience.
Jo, I also want to thank you for your allowing me time to explain myself and for your kindness and care. You were always very supportive, even when I was emotional, and made me feel comfortable and at ease.
Your combined efforts have made a significant difference during what is a very stressful time. I am truly grateful for your dedication, care and support. Thank you, Jane

Madeline gave me thorough advice in layman's terms so I could understand and listened to my instructions and acted upon them. I was treated with respect and courtesy by Madeleine and all the team.

I met Madeleine at a very difficult time in life and she has been my guide throughout the process. I have felt supported, seen, and understood continuously. Madeleine gives clear guidance and direction while remaining matter of fact and honest, which for me was perfect.
