Sitting with a High Court Judge, I was able to observe different areas of law including high profile criminal trials and the Court of Appeal Criminal Division. I gained a significant understanding of effective advocacy, procedure and legal arguments. The role also gave me an opportunity to travel to various court centres across the UK, with a specific focus on the Western Circuit. It was this job that inspired me to pursue a career at the Bar and, later, a practice on the Western Circuit.
