Avoid This Solicitor: Unprofessional and Unreliable
I was introduced to this solicitor by a friend, and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Initially, he was extremely persistent, calling and texting almost every second day to secure payment. While this was annoying, I tolerated it due to the recommendation from my friend.
However, once I made the deposit and provided my instructions, his responsiveness quickly declined. He eventually became completely unresponsive, which was frustrating given the urgency of my case. To make matters worse, he handed off my case to a colleague without informing me, and I later discovered that they had lost all my personal data. I was asked to resend everything without any explanation or apology.
The work I hired them for never progressed. As the situation changed, I provided updated instructions, but these were ignored. Instead, I received irrelevant requests from their office, highlighting a severe lack of internal communication.
At the final stages, after weeks of frustration and no progress, I decided to end the collaboration and requested a full refund. I also filed a formal complaint with their office, following their terms and conditions. To my surprise, I received a response after midnight, acknowledging my complaint and promising a refund within a week. It's now been a month and a half, and I have yet to receive a reply or the promised refund.
I have since raised official complaints with the regulators. Based on my personal experience, I strongly advise anyone seeking reliable legal representation to stay away from this solicitor. Their unprofessionalism and lack of accountability are truly alarming.

Friendly and efficient assistance at short notice
Mr. Winston Brown was the epitome of efficiency and courtesy when dealing with my request. The fees charged were also very competitive and I will certainly use this company again should I need legal help of any kind in the future.

Save your money, do it yourself.
Absolutely awful solicitor and helpless solicitor.
Done absolutely nothing for our case.
Doesn’t answer phone calls only leaves voicemails days later.
Good luck to anyone who’s chose this solicitor. Do not use !

Avoid instructing Brown & Co Solicitors at all cost! Avoid!
It took Winston Brown 9 months to file a response to an online divorce petition.
It is taking Winston Brown 5 emails so far and countless telephone calls to provide me with a time sheet by way of invoice against my retainer.
After the 4th email after I complained that dealing with him was akin to having ones teeth extracted without anesthetic, he finally responded by overcharging me hundreds of pounds over his stated hourly rate contained in my signed CCL.
Further, unresponded emails and telephone calls later and I'm still waiting as I type for him to correct this error.
I have emailed him withdrawing my consent for him to act longer for me (effectively firing him him) and he is refusing to send me a revised invoice and refusing to refund me the balance of my retainer.
My experience continues to be one akin to having multiple wisdom teeth extractions without anesthetic.
I wish I had read up on his reviews before instructing him.
Avoid Winston Brown at all cost! He has been very poor value for money and my ordeal with him continues as I type.
A formal complaint to the Law Society and the Legal Ombudsman to follow.

Very poor knowledge of rules and awful service despite complaints
Winston Brown himself handed conveyancing of my BTL transaction. Showed poor data protection and sent on 3 occasions transaction details if unconnected parties, failed to calculate stamp duty correctly despite being pointed out the calculation 3 or 4 times and refused to bear any responsibility. After a formal complaint against him he agreed compensation only to never pay it despite 3 or 4 reminders. Cant describe anything worse in terms of service and incompetence from a professional who is expected to know the rules.
DO NOT GO WITH HIM.

Have not received pre auction pack review in time.
Unfortunately these days people trying to make as much money as they could in absolutely acceptable ways. This company has been recommended to me as professional, but even i paid in time they couldn't t deliver the service they promised. I wanted to check pre auction legal pack and i ve been told that i will get this review by the auction day. But unfortunately i received this review few days after. They told me they are very satisfied with their job and dont understand why i m not happy. ( i missed my auction couse of this, i didnt want to take any risk), its very obvious for clever people. They keep telling me that on the phone i told that i m not sure if i m going to bid, kind of they decided what i should do. It looks very unprofessional. I paid in time, but i have not received this answer. I m not as educated as them, is that mean they can just ignore me and send me requested by me information whenever they think i need it or don't need anymore. If i paid for the service its mean i need an answer. Afterall they agreed to refund me money telling they should reach my account in 38 max. Now its over 30 days and still very quite. I think they just don't respect people. I said before, who we can trust them if we cant trust solicitors even if we pay money. Olga

Wasting of money and time.
Unfortunately Brown and co Solicitors, that has been recommended by Homeward Legal, are not responsible, very poor service, difficult to reach them on the phone. I paid requested amount of money as soon as i received B.D., but when it came to get a report, pre auction pack review, they just completely ignored very important lease question i was interesting in. I m not educated in this as much as we all have to be, that's why i decided to seek help from educated solicitors, but i couldn't t find any information in my report about Notice 42, but just them telling to me " You should seek a legal advice regarding lease". Very strange, i thought i m in the correct place, as Joshua from Homeward Legal ensured me this job should be done in time, they should have at least say it before, not the night before the day auction takes place. So £300 paid for nothing. Very disappointed. Shamaal was dealing with my case as well.

Mr Brown has been a very delightful and knowledgeable solicitor who knew exactly what to do and was very professional in his conduct with my case. Would recommend if you have issues with TFL regarding licensing issues.

Late Refreshment License
