Matthew attended Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera and subsequently completed his Law degree and Legal Practice Course at Swansea University. Upon leaving university, Matthew worked as a paralegal in both Swansea and Cardiff, joining BWL in November 2012. Matthew was offered, and accepted a Training Contract commencing on the 1st December 2014. His main areas of work are in our Civil and Family Law departments dealing with Personal Injury cases and all areas of Family work including Divorce, Children Matters and Financial Remedies. Matthew enjoys spending time with his young family. He is a season ticket holder at Swansea City AFC and a member of Neath Golf Club. He is also a fluent Welsh speaker.

Highly Recommend
I appointed Matthew Phillips to assist in a family matter. He was most attentive and professional in the service he delivered. Provision Of Family Matter Service
Matthew Phillips provided an extremely professional and understanding service to me during my divorce which was a very difficult time for me. He provided a guiding hand through the divorce process and continues to do so in the aftermath when required. I would recommend him and BWL to anyone at anytime. I will continue to use BWL in the future.

Crossed communication
Matthew was always courteous and polite, nonetheless, I think on occasion I was looking for stronger direction. There was the potential for mishap with my clean break order.
However, from a client point of view, on paper I came away with a positive result from my divorce.

Family law
I first instructed Matthew when he was recommend by a friend. Matthew has been absolutely amazing with his support, guidance and constant support throughout the difficult time I was enduring with regards to gaining contact from my son who was alianated from me. Matthew advised me and recommended what I should do every step of the way and was always at the other end of the phone or email when I needed advice or to update him with issues I was having with regards to my sons mother. Matthew was very thorough and always professional with his guidance and support. I was very lucky to have such an amazing solicitor, who clearly has a lot of experience a d expertise, he knows exactly what he's doing and managed to get the case sorted within less that 9 months. I was very happy with the outcome of the court proceedings achieving exactly everyrhing in which I wanted and requested from him to put forward to the courts.
