He has 20 years’ experience with leasehold enfranchisement, initially working for a leading project management company that managed bulk lease extension projects and large freehold purchases on behalf of thousands of leaseholders. During that time he also served as Membership Secretary for ALEP (the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisements Practitioners). He also co-founded and was Managing Director of a valuation firm specialising in the area before starting my legal training in 2014. This gave him a fully rounded understanding of the whole process to allow him to advise freeholders and leaseholders alike. When working for the project management company he was the Operations Director and therefore company law and commercial property immediately interested him having been in the same position as his clients just a few years earlier, negotiating on new office premises on numerous occasions. Having run companies before turning to law he has an understanding of the position that his clients are in, having been there himself, and can operate with a business as well as legal mind when approaching transactions.

Mark Curtis assisted a group of leaseholders with the purchase of a freehold for a block of flats.
He was knowledgeable, a good communicator, responsive to individual's questions and concerns and patient. The work was completed in a timely manner. At a different time and on another matter he provided the process and actions through which a transfer of title was carried out.

Flock and Herd commercial property purchase

We already use Zgrp for accountancy, bookkeeping and startegic advice, so using them for conveyancing on the purchase of a commercial freehold property was extremely straightforward. One major benefit was that communication between ourselves and Mark (who handled the conveyancing) and our accountant was quick and easy. Overall the process was handled extrememly well with Mark having a very calm and professional approach whenever we came up against the inevitable challenges of a commercial property purchase.
