Very helpful and supportive service
Sarah Begley was the solicitor who helped my husband and myself sort out our dear friends will and probate. She explained in detail what the process would be and how long it would take. Sarah was able to help us with a difficult situation and dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently. Nothing was too much bother for her and she kept us informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend Sarah Begley and Martin Tolhurst solicitors.

Probate application and estate distribution
We instructed Sarah from Martin Tolhurst to deal with the application for Probate and estate distribution following my father-in-law's passing earlier this year. We have been very happy with Sarah's work and support. She, and her colleagues, have been very helpful through the whole of this process. Estate distribution has now been completed and we are more than happy with the service provided.

Infinite patience and perseverance
Acting on my behalf on my late mother's tax return, the whole process took more than a year thanks to HMRC delays and lack of communication, which led to a penalty charge being applied despite the eventual tax demand being sent well after the payment would have been due, but my solicitor persevered doggedly, making many, many phone calls and sending letter after letter. She sent me emails detailing the progress (or lack of it), and successfully appealed the penalty charge.

Would recommend!
Sarah at Martin Tolhurst was always on hand to answer questions during a very difficult time when sorting out my late father's estate. She was particularly patient and understanding when faced with the problems caused by family members who did not always agree. Would definitely recommend!

Sale of house following bereavement
Sarah from Martin Tolhurst dealt with the Probate application and will complete estate distribution following my father-in-law's passing earlier this year. We have been very happy with Sarah's work and support, so it seemed natural to ask if they could do the conveyancing on the father-in-law's house when the time came. Roger (the conveyancing solicitor) was very helpful, fully supporting the sale through an online auction. That sale has now completed, and we are more than happy with the service provided. We expect estate distribution to happen very soon.

Estate, will and powers of attorney
Martin Tolhursts have been the family solicitor for many years and have always provided sound advice and quality service at a reasonable rate. On the death of a close family member, the team were quick to provide assurance on estate issues, gave advice on property management and financial matters, and provided a path to establishing powers of attorney and revised wills in order to update the affairs of family members.

Will and probate

Fast, prompt, efficient service
Sarah helped me with arranging probate after my father passed away. She provided great communication through each stage and the process was fast and efficient taking only 4 weeks from start to finish. Would highly recommend and will definitely not hesitate to use in the future, thanks Sarah.

Exemplary Service
Since 2017 I have been dealing with the Wills & Probate Team at Martin Tolhurst and in particular the Solicitor Sarah Begley. Initially in 2017 she assisted me in becoming a POA for my Grandmother and then following her passing in 2022 she again assisted me as the administrator of her estate. I have always found it very easy to communicate with Sarah and I will certainly always be very grateful for the help, assistance and guidance she has provided me over the years always in a friendly, professional and timely manner. Since my Grandmother passed Sarah and her team have continued to offer me excellent service in the administration of her estate and I believe the last few years have certainly run far smoother for me with their professional help and guidance and although ours was a business relationship she has often felt like a friend guiding me through some quite stressful times and for that I will always be very grateful.
