Helpful, straightforward, transparent. No smarm or timewasting.
This was my first experience with solicitors. I first contacted Nicholls while trying to price up the cost of a financial order as part of divorce proceedings; Nicholls were one of the few companies that did not pressure me to open a case from the first consultation and were realistic that I was shopping around for quotes. My initial phone call with Isabel was clear, concise, and friendly.
After a different company ghosted me, Nicholls got back in touch to follow-up to see if I was still interested, so we proceeded (I was particularly pleased by this because they were the only company that did!).
Sarah was incredibly helpful and professional from start-to-finish, and was responsive to emails and minor revisions to documents. Divorce proceedings are challenging by their very nature, but this company really helped to take the sting out of the final chapter by keeping proceedings timely and smooth.

Could not have got through it without Sarah
Having gone through a very traumatic divorce and subsequent court process, lasting almost 2 years, I can now begin to look back at what I’ve been through.
I first contacted Sarah a week after my husband announcing he wanted a divorce on Christmas Eve. She was just the closest firm to my locality. I immediately took to her and could feel the empathy in her voice as well as emails-always prioritising mine and my children’s safety-physically as well as mentally. She supported me through every single step and genuinely cared about me and my two boys. I went through dealing with the divorce and accepting that I had been married to a man that I hadn’t known for years and turns out he was a narcissist - again she supported me and was a shoulder for me to cry on, sometimes literally down the phone. She tried every trick in the book to avoid court but being a narcissist meant there was no other way this would have ended. She offered advice and support mentally for the coercive behaviour and threats that I received.
She assisted me through the form filling and official aspects of the divorce-always being professional but understand how disturbing and traumatic this process was for me-I was not just a case but a human. She advised me on how to help my children with the process and always tried to help me leave emotions out of any communications with my ex-knowing that this would just make things worse. Instead she would let me vent my emotions onto her instead. I can’t imagine the mental strain of this on her-not just for my case but many others I’m sure.
She took things personally-sending me congratulations messages when I’d completed a race and always seem to go the extra mile. I could genuinely feel the relief she felt for me when the process was finally over. She fought for me and my boys at EVERY SINGLE STEP in this process and thank you just doesn’t seem enough for what she and her firm have done. She is an absolute diamond.
I could genuinely not have asked for a better solicitor.
I often wish we’d met each other in a different experience as sure we’d made very good friends and have so much in common-I’d love to go out one night with her and have a good old dance!
