Lack of Communication
Have used the Clacton Branch for conveyancing in April 2024 and were extremely happy with their service, however had to use Colchester for current conveyancing and were very disappointed.
Solicitor from the start seemed abrasive, lacked personable skills and communication.
Got to exchange date, (told the afternoon before) completed relevant documents at 3.30pm, emailed solicitor for update the next morning, to discover on leave. It was only the fact that her secretary run around to sort everything, was the only reason exchange took place!
Completion was due the following Friday, however, again, due to lack of communication, it nearly didn’t take place!
We paid the funds for purchase on the Wednesday and didn’t receive a correct bill until the Thursday afternoon! ( Previously had also given us wrong solicitors account to pay into!) We tried to pay the solicitor fees in cash on the Friday morning to be rudely told that the sale would not complete that day until her fees were paid and charged 4% above base rate for failing to complete. Would not use her again.

Friendly and Timely
Most of all I've never had to chase anything. Everything was of a timely manner and was easily able to contact directly over email or over the phone. Very happy!
