James joined Hewitts as an Administrative Apprentice in 2019. Since then, he has progressed within the criminal department starting as a Secretary in January of 2021 and progressing to a Paralegal in July of 2022. James also became a fully accredited Police Station Representative in December 2023 which allowed him to attend the Police Station and provide legal advice whilst being interviewed under caution, within this role James assisted clients and provided advice in relation to a wide variety of offences. James currently deals with all matters in the the Criminal Department involving Crown Court Proceedings. In September of 2024 James joined Northumbria University in which he is working towards completing a 6 year Solicitor Apprenticeship. James now works within the Public Family Team, mainly assisting clients during Child Protection Conferences and Public Law Outline Meetings.
