In 2023 I found myself in an unexpected situation of having to deal with the estate of a relative who had passed away intestate.l didn't know where to start! Living in Shrewsbury I needed a solicitor in Barnstaple and triggered by a vague childhood memory I contacted Slee Blackwell. My case was assigned to Holly Hampton (now Gilbert) to whom I cannot give high enough praise. She has dealt with everything professionally, competently and swiftly and the estate has been settled. Also worthy of top marks are Kay and Rosie. Thank you all and please will you relocate to Shrewsbury?!

Fantastic solicitors
I am so pleased that I chose Slee Blackwell Solicitors, firstly Holly Gilbert nee Hampton for dealing with the probate so efficiently. I was kept updated throughout the process and cannot thank Holly enough for her hard work. I would also highly recommend Anya Hoyland who I appointed to deal with a contentious probate claim. Anya was extremely efficient, explained all different options and gave me such good advice. Thanks to Anya the claim was dealt with without any delays and I was absolutely delighted with the outcome.

Execution of my mum's estate
From first to last Holly has been an outstanding solicitor, during what was quite a painful time for me and my siblings. She has been patient, timely, explaining everything clearly. Faultless, in a word!

Excellent for creating a Will
It was a really professional, friendly and quick service. I was able to attend the local office for an initial appointment to discuss the details of the Will with the solicitor. Following that, email correspondence was excellent, and then finally signing the Will at the office with two of the other members of staff. A one-off fee that was agreed in advance and much better value than my previous solicitors, plus more efficient with better communication. Would use again in the future.

Holly does it again! It's worth reading this review.
I needed to make a Will. One of these things that we all should do but is extremely easy to put off. I had made a list of the Barnstaple solicitors who advertised such and started calling to see what sort of price a will would be and the procedure for making such a will. I was a little surprised at my findings. Some would not give a price and others would be very arrogant and question details that at this stage were totally irrelevant! However Slee Blackwell listened and acted courteously and with professionalism. I was fortunate in getting Holly to carry out my instruction, apart from being quite lovely she knew all the answers to my questions and suggested things I was not aware of and, as I was going on holiday in about 10 days, she managed to get everything wrapped up before my departure. I might also add, very competitively priced, far less than I was expecting. Thank you Holly
