Lauren Naismith
Solicitor - Partner
SRA ID: 00579524
Lauren joined Venters Solicitors in 2008, originally taking up a role as office junior. She had already started studying CILEX [Chartered Institute of Legal Executives] to enable her to qualify as a Legal Executive. CILEX enables you to study the law to qualify as a Legal Executive but also to work full time in a law firm, enabling you to obtain the practical experience. In her first year of studying CILEX she was awarded The Sweet and Maxwell Prize for obtaining the highest mark in the first set of examinations. Upon joining Venters solicitors, she was quickly promoted to a Paralegal, assisting a Senior Solicitor on a range of family matters. These family matters included private law children matters, divorce and financial matters and care proceedings. An opportunity then arose for her to work as a Paralegal, under the supervision and guidance of the firms’ Managing Partner, June Venters KC. Again, during this time, she gained invaluable experience assisting on a range of family law matters and criminal matters and attended a number of court hearings and police station interviews alongside June. After completing the four years of studying CILEX, she decided to further her career by qualifying as a Solicitor. To do so she completed a further year of core law modules with CILEX, to enable her to undertake the Legal Practice Course. She completed these modules whilst working full time and by distance learning. In 2012-2013 she embarked on the Legal Practice Course on a full-time basis, whilst continuing to work at Venters part-time. She passed this course with a distinction and was awarded a further award for achieving the highest mark in the Property Law examination. Following completion of CILEX and the Legal Practice Course, because of her significant experience she could have qualified as a Solicitor immediately. However, she chose to obtain more experience and undertook a formal Training Contract with Venters Solicitors from 2013-2015, working alongside June. She qualified as a Solicitor on 2 March 2015. Since this time, she has continued to undertake a range of matters, including both criminal and family matters but have mainly focused on matters concerning children. Within 10 months of qualifying she was accredited on the Family Law Advanced Panel, specialising in child abduction, wardship and private law children matters. This is an ongoing accreditation, having to renew the same every 5 years. She became a Partner at Venters Solicitors on 2 March 2018.

They saved my life as a father.
Junes Venters just saved my case and I could see my daughter after 19 months of a legal dispute.
I can't thank her, and her collaborators Lauren and Laura, enough for being such great professionals.
