Conveyancing for house sale and purchase
McKeag and Co were excellent in the purchase of our new house and sale of our old house.
They completed the transaction within 12 weeks of the memorandum of sale being produced.
They kept us updated at all times and were prompt at replying whenever we did have any queries or questions.

Conveyancing transaction
The company were very professional throughout and kept me updated as to the progress of my house sale. Provided some aspects of the conveyancing process in paper form as requested.

Fast start then it slowed down waiting for responses
It started very positive I was proactive in sorting out the RMG pack then it stalled and disappointing to be told it is usual to also require a landlord pack weeks after getting RMG pack felt too much left to email queries
Spent a lot of cash on responding and sending back queries guaranteed delivery within 24 hours of being asked
Awaiting a response from the buyer took ages and I’m sure it could have been resolved by a phone call
Chose this solicitor as thought had. Close this solicitor as they dealt with previous sale and thought they had a close relationship with estate agents to cause for updates
Felt I did more work on chasing leases and chasing dates

Dear Duncan Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, please be assure that we always consider these and although by far the majority are extremely positive we do look for any opportunities to improve the service we offer. In the case of your particular sale I believe that we perhaps could have been clearer with you about the number or times we chased your buyer’s solicitor for progress. For example between issuing the draft contact pack to them on 4th April and their checking the legal title and raising enquiries on 13th May we contacted them on five separate occasions. Again between our replying to the last enquiries and being ready to agree a completion date on 23rd May and the buyer’s solicitor then being ready and proposing a completion date on 18th June we had contacted them twice for updates. I suspect from the emails and notes on our file you will not have been made aware of each and every time we chased up on your behalf. I believe from our file that each time we received enquiries they were dealt with proactively and replies provided to the buyer’s solicitor within three working days. Likewise we regularly chased your buyer’s solicitor for progress and updates and overall your sale did complete without our estimated timescale of 10-12 weeks from the issuing of draft contracts. As we explained at the outset it is not unusual for leasehold properties to take longer than 10-12 weeks but I am pleased to note that this was not the case for you . In respect of your specific point regarding the management of your building I would say that it was unusual that we required additional freeholder information from Places for People given than RMG are authorised and instructed by Places for People but did not include all of the require information in their information pack. Thank you once again for your review. As part of our process of continuous improvement we will certainly reflect on any changes we can make to our process .
