Successful defence to CPS – Prosecution offer no evidence
I faced proceedings at the Crown Court. Following a detailed and comprehensive written representation from Andy Rootsey made to the CPS on my behalf, the CPS agreed to drop the case and offered no evidence against me, thereby clearing my name.
I can't thank Andy Rootsey enough! He was calm, experienced, and supported me through this period and achieved the desired outcome.

Excellent professional support at a difficult time
We had an extremely troubling case with a family member at the same time as another member was very ill. We contacted Murray Hughman from a personal recommendation and they were wonderful. Calm, professional, excellent advice, swift response to e-mails. With their help we were able to achieve the best possible result from a difficult situation.

Prosecution have dropped the case-Not Guilty Verdict
I am delighted with the service provided by Andy Rootsey. I discovered this week, after a long and drawn-out disclosure battle with the Prosecution that they are now dropping the case against me, shortly before my Trial was due to take place. The Court will now enter a Not Guilty verdict against me, clearing me of the charges. This was only made possible by the relentless and tenacious efforts made by Andy and my barrister in holding the prosecutions feet to the fire and making the applications necessary, to force them to hand over the material that assisted my case. After we succeeded in those applications the Prosecution have now finally dropped the case, despite digging their heels in and refusing to do so at every stage prior to this. This result was only made possible by Andy being resolute, dogged and determined in seeing that justice was done. Quite simply you get what you pay for, and I cannot recommend Andy Rootsey of Murray Hughman enough for clearing my name, thank you.

Best of the best - thank you
Firstly a massive thank you to Andy and his team. After a very long 2.5 years on remand, my brothers case finally came to trial in May 24. The trail which was expected to last 2 weeks ran into 5 weeks. At the end of the trial, a NOT guilty verdict was delivered by the jury even though the prosecution believed to have ‘very compelling’ evidence against my brother.
Instead of looking at 14 YEARS imprisonment, my brother will now be home next MONTH :-)
As a family we believe the verdict may of been very different without Andy and his exceptional barrister Mr Langley’s hard work and extensive knowledge.
Since the arrest in late 2021, Andy has worked very closely alongside my brother and family . He has been very informative and kept my brother and ourselves up to date at all times. Any questions we had, Andy would respond as soon as possible regardless of the time of day with clear responses on any queries, worries etc we had raised.
Hopefully we will never need Andy’s services again however, if we did, we would not hesitate to use Andy and his law firm again. We will 100% be recommending Andy and his team to anyone else who may need assistance and again would like to take this opportunity to say thank you once more.

A Brilliant Knowledgeable Team
I cannot rate the team at Murray Hughman highly enough (and in particular Andy Rootsey) for the endless hours of work they spent on the case I was a character witness for. The professionalism and sensitivity they showed everyone during the build up to and throughout the court case was outstanding and I saw how much deep trust was developed between them and their clients over this time. I was only able to attend court on the final three days of the case when I saw first hand the masters at work. A brilliant team; calmly, quietly and skillfully ensuring justice prevailed.
