She’s since been based in our Dunfermline office and was made Partner in 2014. Selina is highly experienced and heads up our Court Department in Dunfermline. The majority of her work is matrimonial, where she specialises in Separation/Divorce, Child Contact Orders and Children’s Panels cases. She also undertakes a lot of ‘Adults with Incapacity’ work including, what can be the complex area of Guardianships. Selina has been appointed by the court as a Bar Reporter on a number of occasions, in order to assist the court in resolving child contact disputes. She has also been appointed as Safeguarder in cases of Adults with Incapacity. Genuine, compassionate and reliable, Selina builds strong and solid relationships with her clients and is particularly passionate about cases involving child welfare. Selina is on the Board of Relationship Scotland. She is also the designated Solicitor for Bump to Baby Bump to Baby | Prenatal and Postpartum, Education and Support. In her downtime, Selina tries to keep fit by going to the gym. She lives in Perth with her family, with whom she likes to spend much of her time. To relax, when time allows, she loves walking, watching films, reading, as well as travelling and eating out. Selina’s Role on the Board of Trustees of Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife Selina sits on the Board of Trustees of Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife, having accepted a post in July 2022. Relationship Scotland is a charitable organisation with which Selina has had a close connection over her 16 years of practice. Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife is responsible, among other necessary services, for providing Child Contact Centres throughout Tayside and Fife. Contact Centres have a vital role in facilitating, and nurturing, parent/child relationships. Most commonly Contact Centres are used when the parent/ child relationship has broken down as a result of separation, or other issues arising that prevent one parent from facilitating contact with the other parent. Often Contact Centres can be used to facilitate the reintroduction of parents who have been estranged from their children for long periods of time. This can be for all manner of reasons, and the trained staff within the centre are used to dealing with a wide variety of circumstances, offering understanding and empathy to those who access the service. Contact Centres provide a safe, child-friendly environment, are also capable of providing additional support to children who have more complex needs, and ensuring they are familiar with the staff and the centre in advance of contact taking place. Selina is delighted to have been given the opportunity to participate with Relationship Scotland Tayside and Fife as a member of the Board of Trustees.

I was represented by Selina during my separation. She is very warm, easy to talk to and empathetic.
I found the other staff lovely and helpful too, Helen in particular.

Superb service

I recently required the services of a solicitor. Having dealt with W and AS Bruce before with house purchases, I had no hesitation in contacting them for assistance. The entire process was seamless and I was fully appraised of what was happening throughout the process. They made what could have been a difficult situation, very straightforward for myself and my now ex-wife.
Helen Gibb and Selina Mackay are an absolute credit to the firm and I would have no hesitation in seeking their help again.
