Adrian is a Law Honours Graduate from Durham University and admitted as a Solicitor in 1977. His initial training and early years of qualification were with a specialist Company/Commercial firm where he quickly took responsibility for complex corporate matters as well as acting in litigious disputes involving the construction of the North Sea Oil Fields. This was highly complex work involving very often metallurgist’s reports and the ability to absorb technical information very quickly. He remained working in the field of Company and Commercial Law for a number of years and his cases involved the sale of a national newspaper, the sale of a leading manufacturer in the world of sport as well as disposing of a major hotel chain involving over 50 luxury hotels. This work involved coming against some of the largest firms in the City of London. He has retained a very good knowledge of Company Law and Company Taxation which has stood him in good stead in becoming one of the region’s leading divorce lawyers. In the mid-1990s Adrian changed from being a Company/Commercial Lawyer into his current expert field of Family Law. He has large experience of complex divorce financial matters especially those involving family companies and family Trusts both national and international. He enjoys a nationwide practice as well as having international clients who seek him for his divorce financial expertise. Adrian is also highly experienced in the field of Private Child Law and can honestly say that he has never once failed to obtain contact for a father with a child and he has had some notable successes over the years. Adrian’s practice now encompasses Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as all aspects of Trusts to include Asset Protection Trusts and assisting high net worth individuals with Tax Planning. These plus his divorce work now represent the core business of AB Family Law. He is fearless in his representation of clients while understanding the wisdom and common sense of settling matters satisfactorily at as early a stage as possible. In Court he is known to be a fearsome opponent representing clients and achieving the best possible outcome on their behalf. There cannot be many solicitors who, after a particularly noteworthy excellent result for a client, benefitted from a police escort out of a South Wales Valley town! He has an excellent understanding of many aspects of law which greatly aids his divorce and finances practice as that often assist in achieving a fair and just financial settlement because to do so often involves a knowledge of Land Law, Trusts, Taxation, Company structures and the true valuation of family businesses.
