We chose to sell our house and buy a new property with WB after we had a great experience when we bought our first house 5 years ago. Unfortunately the experience was very different. We had poor communication throughout. We constantly had to chase them and were often given unsatisfactory information when we did get through. I would not recommend them.

Our purchase took 4 months, despite being cash buyers and the property we were buying was empty. There were too many people dealing with the purchase, and it seemed that despite that they never spoke to each other.

I am a first time buyer and Georgia and Gemma made the whole process very smooth and easy. Would 100% recommend!

We did our research and given Wosskow Brown were in our area, were happy to give them a try after having heard good things. At the start of 2024 they were pretty good at responding and keeping on top of our case. After the summer we decided to change our house purchase and it was at this point the process was one of the most tedious i’ve ever had to endure. Little to no communication, not replying to e-mails and false claims on missing information that had been passed on. We had to push through our estate agents and our sellers solicitors to help get the process moving in the end. We felt being a paying customer wasn’t enough to give the case any urgency. I know the company was restructured last year, so i’m reluctant to blame the staff. But it seems something operationally has really hurt this companies ability to do the basics right since the takeover. Wouldn‘t recommend and there seems to be better companies in Sheffield now. This one has had it.

Too slow service I had to chase up wveuthing staff were ok but the time it took stressed me out and my sellers the whole process was supposed to be upto 12 weeks however it took nearly 6 months for them to complete it

The whole process was a very stressful and frustrating experience, mainly due to an initial failure to explain "mixed monies" and the significance of personal cash flow issues and how this would impact our purchasing status. My wife and I were made to feel like criminals, which we felt was really unjust, unnecessary and unfair.

I used WB Pennine (previously Wosskow Brown) for my conveyancing after a recommendation and many good reviews online. Initial contact was prompt but it went downhill from then on.

Moving property is a stressful thing to do and this wasn’t helped in any way by WB Pennine. Communication was extremely lacking throughout, we were not kept informed of the different stages as we moved through the process. There was no online portal which I’d have expected. We were not sent paperwork when we should have been. We would phone and be unable to speak directly with our solicitor, requesting callbacks which often didn’t materialise. There were several points where I had no idea what was happening with our case.

This caused real uncertainty, the process was lengthy and this and a lack of communication with me, estate agents etc caused problems. We were worried that the chain was going to fall through as with the lengthy delay (not solely but at many times caused by WB Pennine), luckily this didn’t happen.

I expected a much better service than we received. Georgia was clearly competent and knowledgeable, the conveyancing itself was good when action was being taken. I do feel like more prompt action could have been taken though to keep things moving, it took prompts to ensure things were chased up. The branch may be understaffed and that could be part of the issue.

I would not recommend WB Pennine for conveyancing work.
