I am a Solicitor in the Residential Real Estate team and I joined the firm in November 2021. I am based in our Colchester office and am available for a free 15-minute chat over the phone. I love what I do! I have always been attracted to property law and I have been told that my love of my job comes across when I am working with clients. I believe that the pleasure I take in my work allows me to build a strong client relationships, and I am always more than happy to answer their queries…big or small. I help clients with residential property sales and purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages and first registrations. I love to work directly with clients, particularly when they are first-time buyers. Buying your first home can be stressful so I try to remove the stress and bring back the excitement! Because I trained in general practice, I was able to experience various areas of the law before deciding on conveyancing, and I know I made the right choice - it can be fast-paced but also extremely rewarding. I read law at Queens University Belfast where I gained my LLB. I also achieved a Diploma in Professional Legal Studies at Queens and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland and, later, to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales. My home is split between Essex and Northern Ireland. I enjoy walking in the Mourne Mountains and in Dedham Vale, which in my opinion are both equally beautiful. I love spending time with my family and with my dogs. In fact, I am an avid animal lover - from hens to horses and everything in between!

Excellent Service on a Challenging Probate Sale
Sarah, with Rebecca's help, made the sale of a probate property seamless. I am not sure it would have gotten across the line without her.

Property Purchase
Sarah Murphy was the solicitor recommended to me and to act for me on a property purchase, Sarah was extremely professional and i was very impressed with her services and diligence. Sarah was so thorough, patient, kind and understanding during my enquires and in explaining things every step of the way, i cannot recommend her highly enough and although i didn’t complete the sale, i will certainly look forward to utilising Sarah’s services again in the future…full marks and thank you so much!

Excellent
Having had the initial sale of our property fall through, Sarah was very supportive and helpful. She has been brilliant throughout our subsequent sale/purchase and has always been happy to answer any questions we had. We moved into our new home at the beginning of December and we couldn't be happier. We would not hesitate to recommend her to friends and family.

Very highly recommend.
We inherited a house in Norfolk which had to be sold.
Over a period of eighteen months we had four buyers. On the first three occasions the buyers pulled out for various reasons, but we were successful with the fourth buyers.
On each occasion Sarah was extremely helpful. We knew very little about the property but she helped us to provide answers to questions raised by the solicitors of the buyers.
She always dealt swiftly with our queries and her replies to us were always clear and timely.
We are very thankful that we had Sarah as our solicitor to help us through what has at times been very difficult for us.
We have no hesitation in highly recommending Sarah.

Brilliant conveyancing solicitor
Sarah helped us with two complex probate sales. She was both efficient and compassionate, answering our (probably sometimes silly) questions quickly and clearly and with understanding and good humour. Sarah made a very stressful situation that much easier and I will always be grateful for her expertise and kindness.

Sarah has gone above and beyond helping us secure our first house. She was so great to deal with and replied promptly to emails and kept us in the loop to let us know how things were progressing. Even when the process took longer than normal on the sellers end, Sarah was great at making sure we were kept on track for exchange and completion and was integral for getting it all over the line. Would throughly recommend her work!

Sale of Fathers property
Sarah and her team have been fantastic through out the process of selling our late Fathers house
She kept us updated and informed as to what was happening and when we needed to act.
When we lost a buyer she managed to keep our losses to the company at a minimum.

On your side
Sarah did an excellent job dealing with the sale of a property for probate. Sarah explained to me what needed doing, options, best way to respond to questions about a property that I inherited.
Sarah dealt with some challenging time lines last minute curve balls thrown at us professionally and very quickly.
Sarah had my back when the challenges arose and fought my corner for me.
All business was by email and phone calls due to distance constraints which isn't always easy, but Sarah was great.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her conveyancing services.
