I originally trained and qualified in the field of Electronic Engineering and subsequently read Law at Brunel University before attending the College of Law in London for my Legal Practice Course, and went on to qualify as a Solicitor in 2012. My practice includes general and property litigation, and leasehold matters, specialising in lease extension and enfranchisement matters, as well as Landlord and Tenant issues for either Landlords or Tenants including service charge disputes, ground rent arrears and the right to first refusal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. With considerable experience in lease extension and collective enfranchisement claims, under both the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 and the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, for Freeholders and for Lessees, I am able to provide detailed advice to clients on the processes involved, eligibility, timescales and costs as well as the finer details and idiosyncrasies of the legislation itself. Having trained as a litigator from the outset of my career in Law, I am also able to provide detailed Dispute Resolution advice to clients on a range of matters, advise on enforcement of judgments and assist resolving disputes either before they make it as far as Court proceedings or through the Courts.

Ben at MDLS was extremely helpful and prompt. Good at chasing the other parties when needed and very responsive to my questions. And a good sense of humour too!

Would heartily recommend Ben
Ben massively helped me with extending the lease on my flat, so I could sell quickly and without fuss. He explained the process clearly and kept in touch at every stage. I'm really pleased with the outcome – it's a great relief to have it all buttoned up. Plus, I believe his fees to be very reasonable.

Ben Colenutt / Legal Studio
Ben Colenutt was frequently recommended as an expert in property law in my local area online blog, and I engaged him to handle my lease extension. The case was not without complications and delays, but thanks to Ben's vast professional knowledge, experience and perseverance we got there in the end. He then also followed the matter up to make sure the new lease was registered promptly. He was always available to speak on the phone and replied promptly to my emails. I can happily recommend Ben and would use again should the need arise.

Fantastic legal service
Ben was absolutely first class throughout the process. He explained it all in non-legalese language, kept me regularly updated, liaised with other individuals as needed and charged a very fair price. I have no hesitation in recommending him and will definitely return should I need further legal help in the future.
