David is a Director and Solicitor within our Family department having joined the firm in 2016. He has over 20 years of experience in Family law. He is regularly instructed to represent children, parents and other family members in Care Proceedings brought by the Local Authority. David has vast experience in dealing with complex care cases including those with non-accidental injuries, representing clients with special needs and cases with an International element. David also specialises in private law children disputes and advising people on all aspects of separation particularly the financial aspect of a relationship breakdown. David has advised on many high asset worth cases. David is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel of Solicitors having been appointed in 2002. He is also a member of Resolution adhering to their code of practice. David also sits as Assistant Coroner for the City of Sunderland having been appointed to that role in 2003. In addition, he is a Director of Sunderland Business Improvement District and is also the treasurer of the Sunderland Law Society. Away from work David enjoys travelling with his family and has a keen interest in football supporting Sunderland AFC.
