Amy Scott
Trainee Solicitor
One of the most important parts of my role is to ensure that the service I provide is more than just satisfactory for my clients. I want to communicate well with my clients and listen to what they want, while providing the best possible advice in some of the most difficult situations. I chose to study law because I want to be able to help people make a change in their lives and resolve the legal problems that they are facing. I enjoy seeing progression; when clients first come to me, they often feel hopeless and some are at the lowest they have ever been. For me to see them once their case is resolved with the biggest smile on their faces, is the most rewarding element of my job. I recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a First Class Degree in Law. I have continued my studies with ARU and am currently studying the Legal Practice Course and a Masters in Law. In future I would like to specialise in employment law once I qualify as a solicitor. I have previously volunteered at the Law Clinic at ARU, where I worked with qualified solicitors to provide 30 minutes of advice at no cost; we dealt with family law, employment law and immigration law cases. I donate money to local charities and attend charity events. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and I have been complimented for my approachability and my communication skills on many occasions. When I’m not working I love to dance - ballet, tap and modern - and have done so since I was two years old. I also like to go to the gym and walk the dogs over the fields or in the park with my boyfriend. I also love travelling and have a bucket list of all the places I want to visit!
