Anne-Marie Boyle
Solicitor - Partner
SRA ID: 523703
Our Partner Anne-Marie offers a great depth and breadth of experience in employment law. Applying a ‘can do’ attitude and commercial style when advising and supporting her clients, she prioritises the identification of her clients’ needs and aims and then tailors her focus and efforts accordingly, avoiding a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Anne-Marie is highly valued by clients for her accessible, practical and very friendly style. Developing and maintaining highly valued client relationships are key for her. She happily confesses to being a TUPE geek but has also developed specialisms in discrimination, equal pay and family-related law, collective and Industrial Relations issues and litigation. Employment Tribunal litigation has always been at the heart of her career. When advising employer clients she always has an eye on ‘how would this look if it came before a Tribunal?’ She is however equally focused on helping employers to avoid litigation or to get them out of proceedings as quickly as possible, by exploiting weakness in the opposition’s case. Whilst she mainly advises HR teams, Anne-Marie also advises senior executives and partners in their disputes. And as you would expect from someone whose parents were both teachers, Anne-Marie is a skilled presenter and trainer and has devised many bespoke training events for HR teams, managers and Boards of large businesses. During her career she has advised clients in most sectors but has particular specialisms in shipping/maritime, logistics, facilities management, outsourcing and retail manufacturing. Anne-Marie qualified in 1994 at the highly rated trade union firm Russell Jones and Walker (now Slater + Gordon), before moving to Osborne Clarke, where she was a partner for 4 years. She then spent 5 years at another leading South West specialist employment law firm before joining us.

Prompt + Professional = Perfect
After some unpleasantness with my employer, I found myself having to seek advice on tribunals and settlement agreements at short notice. I spent some time looking around as I was looking for someone specialist and professional who could provide me with practical advice regarding a complicated situation well outside of my comfort zone. From the initial call with Lindsey I knew I found the right firm and have been delighted with the support from Anne-Marie throughout.
I really liked that Menzies are a small firm focused on employment law and I felt like I was getting expert advice. Anne-Marie helped me to settle on a course of action and gave me confidence on what would be fair and reasonable given the circumstances which helped me to negotiate an improved settlement agreement from my employer.
Anne Marie has been incredibly easy to work with, she has consistently responded within a few hours so that even though my employer was taking days-to-weeks to respond I was always responding promptly. This was a big help in maintaining momentum and getting a deal out of my employer quickly.
If you are after someone professional, prompt and able to provide bespoke clear advice I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anne-Marie. While I hope never to need this sort of service again, I would absolutely be contacting Anne-Marie in a heartbeat if needed.
