SRA ID: 384465

I am a Consultant Solicitor-Advocate within the Public Law and Immigration departments at Duncan Lewis. I litigate across a broad range of complex areas and regularly conduct complex litigation concerning issues such as unlawful detention, removals to European Countries under the Dublin Conventions, removals on asylum and human rights grounds, challenges to policy/law relating to vulnerable people including victims of torture and trafficking and various other challenges to decisions made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department. I have extensive experience of cases which have been decided by the Upper Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. I am recognised by the the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a Solicitor-Advocate with Higher Rights which enables me to represent clients at the Higher Courts - the Administrative Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Since becoming a Solicitor-Advocate, I have successfully conducted out of hours applications for interim relief before the High Court and drafted Grounds for High Court matters. I initially joined Duncan Lewis in September 2005 for work experience. I was retained after my work experience and offered a position as a paralegal. After I successfully completed my Legal Practice Course (LPC), I was offered a Training Contract with the firm, which I part completed, completing two seats in Immigration Law and Criminal Law respectively. In March 2010 I left Duncan Lewis to complete my Training Contract at Cleveland & Co Solicitors, where I completed my third seat in Employment Law and subsequently qualified and admitted as a Solicitor. Following my admission as a Solicitor I supervised a team of Solicitors, trainees and caseworkers all dedicated to representing the most vulnerable in the society. I rejoined Duncan Lewis in May 2013 as Consultant Solicitor in the Immigration Department. I am accredited as a Supervisor and Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme.
