Karen joined our Residential Property department in 2021 as a Conveyancing Executive, specialising in all aspects of residential conveyancing, becoming Conveyancing Associate in April 2024. She has worked in the legal profession for over 20 years; 15 years in Residential Property and five years in Private Client.
Priding herself on being able to build a strong relationship with her clients, Karen cares deeply about assisting them in achieving their goals and securing their dream home. She treats every client as an individual and does not see them as purely a number. She understands the dream of owning your own home so has a vision to assist in any way she can by being approachable, calm, organised and giving honest, pragmatic advice.
Prior to joining us, Karen left college and entered the legal profession in a general capacity before moving into a conveyancing role at a progressive firm who were very generous with specialist in-house training. It was here that she was fortunate to oversee the Chase Manhattan relocation to Bournemouth with the Partner in charge. Some years later, Karen relocated to North Dorset and spent five years with a prestigious and prominent firm in Private Client specialising in Court of Protection applications which required a great deal of empathy and sensitivity when dealing with clients’ stress levels. She returned to Residential Conveyancing in 2019 after some time in a different industry co-managing a bonded wine storage facility for fine wine connoisseurs, and becoming a licenced victualler in the process.

Successful outcome after a year of trying to move
We employed Parker Bullen in October 2023 when we sold our apartment in Rustington, West Sussex and put in an offer on a house in Downton, Wiltshire. The sale fell through though we found a new buyer in February 2024 and renewed our interest in the house in Downton. Although the sale went extremely well, we encountered a string of issues with the purchase and had to pull out in June. Four months of homelessness followed using Air BnBs, hotels and helpful relatives around the country until we were able to move to a new-build house in Fordingbridge at the end of September. Throughout this adventure/nightmare, Parker Bullen provided good advice and a forthright, professional approach to achieve a satisfactory conclusion.

Fantastic experience
We used Karen, Issy and Lucy’s expertise to purchase our first home and had a fantastic experience with them. As first time buyers we didn’t really know what to expect with the process but we were guided through with ease. The communication was amazing as we were kept fully up to date and any queries we had were responded to very quickly. Disappointed
At 4pm on Sunday 4th August (which was the day before Karen went on holiday), we suddenly received a flurry of emails regarding items we presumed had already been dealt with. It seemed she was having a catch up on matters that she should have attended to some time previously. It included belatedly raising questions with our vendor in response to a form he had filled out in June.
We had raised questions with Karen on at least two occasions regarding the septic tank and had no response, but then her locum raised questions as to planning permission and building regulations for this with the vendor's solicitors.
We feel we did not receive the care and communication that the substantial fee merited.
We were grateful to Sara Blackburn for giving the conveyance her attention and enabling us to exchange contracts.

Seamless & supportive

House move
I am delighted with the service I received from Parker Bullen particularly Karen Hall and her team.
