SRA ID: 825862
Charlotte is a solicitor in the Insolvency and Business Recovery Team. Regardless of the challenge, Charlotte’s primary aim is to find pragmatic solutions for clients. Charlotte always takes a proactive approach and communicates clearly with clients to ensure they fully understand their position, the options they have and the risks involved. Charlotte has experience and expertise in advising insolvency practitioners, creditors and debtors on claims arising out of insolvency processes, presenting and responding to winding up petitions, bankruptcy proceedings, duties of directors, director/shareholder/partnership disputes and debt recovery. Charlotte studied law at the University of Sunderland. Whilst studying, she worked as a legal assistant predominantly in the Prison Law and Criminal Defence matters, assisting with preparation for and attendance at parole board hearings and Crown Court trials. She also volunteered as a Court-based witness support with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau Witness Service, assisting prosecution and defence witnesses through the Court process. In May 2019, Charlotte returned to Essex and began her career at an Essex based law firm in July 2019. Charlotte went on to study the Legal Practice Course combined with a Masters in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in London on a part-time basis whilst working full-time, and successfully graduated in 2021. Thereafter, Charlotte completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in her previous firm’s Dispute Resolution team specialising in insolvency, building on her experience in insolvency and corporate matters gained during her time as a paralegal and trainee solicitor. Out of the office Charlotte is an avid horse rider with 15+ years of experience in the equestrian world. She enjoys spectating at competitions, competing locally and training. As a result Charlotte has a strong interest in Equine Law. Given her extensive knowledge of the sector, Charlotte has a deep understanding of the legal issues that horse owners and equestrian businesses may encounter. This passion for all things equestrian coupled with her legal knowledge has enabled Charlotte to develop niche expertise in advising on disputes relating to the sale and purchase of horses, recovery of unpaid livery and veterinary concerns together with advising on the terms of livery, sale and purchase and loan agreements.
