Regrettable Experience with Myerson: Overcharging and Poor Service
I wish I had read the numerous negative reviews about Myerson before entrusting them with my conveyancing matter. This has been the worst professional service I have ever encountered. From the outset, they misunderstood my instructions, leading to significant delays and complications in the purchase of my property. Despite my efforts to clarify and correct their errors, they remained unhelpful, using convoluted legal jargon and then suggesting that I should have understood their terminology. To add insult to injury, they overcharged me.
After this ordeal, I have no choice but to report my experience to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA). It seems my experience aligns with others who have dealt with Myerson:
1. High Charges for Minimal Work: I was quoted over £2,000 just to write a single letter. This firm seems to be more focused on billing than providing competent service.
2. Incompetence Leading to Delays: They caused significant delays, and I noticed that they even billed time in the middle of the night. Their focus on high billing over efficient service is shocking.
3. Extortionate Fees for Subpar Service: I was charged over £2,000 for a property sale that didn’t proceed due to issues with a Buy-to-Let lender. Their fees are outrageously high compared to other local solicitors.
4. Client Last, Money First: Myerson seems to prioritize extracting as much money as possible from clients. The firm lacks the professionalism and attention to detail I’ve seen with other solicitors.
5. Poor Customer Care: Their customer service is abysmal, with a reputation for overcharging and not providing professional advice. Their complaints procedure is a joke, offering no real recourse for dissatisfied clients.
6. Potential Conflict of Interest in Reviews: I suspect that some of the positive reviews are from employees, not genuine clients. This calls into question the authenticity of their 5-star ratings.
In conclusion, Myerson is a firm that values money over clients. I would strongly advise others to seek legal assistance elsewhere if they value accuracy, efficiency, and fair billing practices.
